Dear Partners in Mission,

It’s time to go further with Vision 2020 in BR-KC! As we sell our Baptist Mission Center offi ce building, relocate and lower our operating costs, we also need to continue to move toward greater assistance for our churches and larger Kingdom impact. We will do this primarily through strategic direction from Association staff and the leadership of our ministry teams.

I believe God would have us to lead in such a way that every church and pastor has the opportunity to be equipped and encouraged, and to participate in fulfi lling Acts 1:8. Working with our ministry teams, we will strategically facilitate local churches partnering together in gospel outreach, resourcing our churches, assisting community transformation, church planting, and equipping leaders.

In gospel outreach we are working hard to develop a strategy for reaching refugees and immigrants–the nations of the world come to Kansas City. We currently assist four campus outreach ministries, and are also pursuing mission partnerships in Vancouver and the Horn of Africa.

In resourcing churches we are seeking skilled volunteers and leading churches to stand ready to assist other churches.

In assisting community transformation we are facilitating opportunities to partner with public schools and impact the youth of our communities.

In church planting we are seeking sponsoring churches, assisting 12 new churches, and developing church planting centers to train and deploy church planters.

In equipping leaders we are facilitating pastors praying for pastors, developing a leadership development toolbox, and planning leadership training opportunities.

In closing I want to share with you a goal I have to eventually see 100% of monies given by each church through the Association “matched” through resourcing received, ministries performed or Kingdom extension work supported. We will accomplish this as the Lord enables the sale of our offi ce building and other funds are procured or donated for endowment. We will invest these funds conservatively, eventually covering our operating costs and salaries out of those investment returns. This will allow us to in turn assist and
equip our churches and extend the Kingdom with all incoming mission gifts through the Association. Won’t that be great? Please pray that God will enable this for His glory, the good of His churches, and the salvation of many here and around the world!
