Dear Pastors/Staff,
Recently, we became aware that Dan Southerland, pastor of Westside Family Church in Lenexa was transitioning toward retirement. Dan is a Kingdom-minded, Kingdom-expanding pastor who has planted 19 churches in the Greater KC area and over 200 house churches overseas. He has a passion to continue mentoring and consulting with pastors and church planters. He has a colossal vision and has truly been willing to become all things to all men that he might by all some means save some. Everyone who sits down with Dan for any amount of time leaves impressed, encouraged, and emboldened with a fresh perspective of what they need to be doing in their own ministry setting.
We want to offer you a couple of opportunities to interact with Dan. We have contracted with him to lead our Revitalization Cohort through the end of the year. This group has met on Tuesday mornings in the past but will be moved to the second Friday of every month based on Dan’s availability and our pastor’s response to recent survey. Our first meeting with Dan will be Friday morning May 11th. We will meet from 10:00 – 11:30 at The Church at Three Trails in Independence (1229 W 31st St, Independence, MO 64055).
Dan will also be starting a personal mentoring group on the East side of the Metroplex in August. This group is composed mostly of church planters but covers several subjects related to church health and growth that apply to churches of all sizes and ages.
The final opportunity we have for you to interact with Pastor Southerland is through one-on-one consultation with him. You will need to take the initiative to contact Dan and it will be based on his personal schedule and availability. We recommend attending on May 11th to meet Dan and get his contact information for future personal consultation.
We are excited for this partnership with Dan. We expectantly anticipate how God will use Dan to strengthen and encourage you and your churches.
