Worship Leader

Big Creek Baptist Church, in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, is seeking a talented worship leader.  This is a part-time (15-20 hours per week), salaried position with salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:

• Be in agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 statement https://bfm.sbc.net/bfm2000/
• Have a music degree or sufficient experience as a worship leader
• Ability to read music
• Be able to learn and use presentation software
• Work well with people
• Be willing to become a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church and be integrated into the life of the church as much as possible

Responsibilities will include:

• Coordination of all aspects of music for the church’s congregational worship services and special services which may include Easter, Christmas Eve, cantatas, etc., in conjunction and cooperation with the pastoral staff and the technology committee
• Leading a balanced service of contemporary and traditional hymnal music on Sunday mornings and leading other services as appropriate
• Build the music program by investing in the current program and identify, mentor, and develop potential members of the choir and/or worship teams
• Lead and coordinate weekly rehearsals for choir and/or worship teams
• Use presentation software to prepare audio/visual elements facilitating congressional participation and awareness of the worship portion of services in conjunction and cooperation with the pastoral staff and  technology committee
• Oversee the music budget
• Select music and other elements necessary to determine the order of worship, in conjunction and cooperation with the pastoral staff, and provide the music selection and order of worship to the church secretary by a mutually acceptable time for printing of practice material and inclusion in the service bulletin
