Dear Pastors and BR-KC Church Members,

I received a call from an old friend in ministry recently who shared a compelling invitation to overseas mission I wanted to pass on to you.  After retiring from Lifeway in Nashville several years ago, Bob Hartman formed Bob Hartman International Ministries.  Since then, he has taken 100’s of trips with churches, college students, and others overseas focusing on biblical teaching, evangelism, and apologetics.  Bob has authored three apologetic manuals that convey and defend the truth of the gospel.  I have traveled to Belarus twice to teach apologetics with him and other pastors and both experiences were amazing.  This is a great opportunity because Bob handles all logistics, insurance, lodging, and travel arrangements for you.  You just show up and serve.  Below is an opportunity for you to pray about.  Please contact me if you are interested in learning more and I will connect you to Bob.  If you feel led to go, let me know and I can help you with some of your expenses.  Pastor, this would be a great mission partnership to introduce to your church and to rally them behind to reach the nations.

Pastor Training in Liberia, Africa
By Bob Hartman

God is moving through a Liberian minister, Rich Reeves, to provide training for village pastors who love the Lord, but who have no way to receive Biblical instruction. After completing his seminary degree in America, Rich returned to Liberia and established a teaching center about an hour south the Monrovia, the capital. The compound includes an auditorium that seats 400, two dorms that sleep 60 each, and a small three-room cottage for the seminar leaders.

Rich is asking for teams of two American pastors to come to Liberia and lead three-day seminars. He desires American ministers, who can teach the reliability of the Bible and help the Liberian pastors know how to respond to Islamic teachings, including questions about the divinity of Jesus. He also needs teams who can teach evangelism, leadership, missions, and theology.

Bob Hartman International Ministries (BHIM) is partnering with Rich to find these teams which usually:
-leave the states on Monday,
-arrive in Liberia on Tuesday,
-spend Wednesday preparing for the conference,
-teach Thursday through Saturday, and
-return home on Monday.

The group training takes place in the mornings and afternoons. The pastors are free after supper. The conference leaders often sit on the cottage porch so they can have one-on-one conversations with the pastors, answer their questions, and minister to them personally.

These village ministers, who earn an average of $25 per month, do not have the resources to travel to the camp or pay their expenses while there. Therefore, Rich has asked for each team to bring $3000 program money. This money is used to bring 125 pastors to the camp and to provide them with food and lodging during the conference. In addition to the program expenses, the mission trip costs each American instructor between $3000 and $3500. In coordination with Rich, BHIM arranges all of the logistics for the trips including medical insurance, airplane tickets, transportation, food, and housing while at the camp.
