Dear Partners in Missions,
Missions and Ministry is cooking as we head quickly toward summer!
RESTORATION HO– USE OF GREATER KANSAS CITY – This crucial ministry to adult women who’ve been victimized by commercial sexual exploitation has seen its first baptism of a recovering trafficking victim! Praise the Lord with us for His wonderful healing grace. Pray that she and our other residential and non-residential program participants will grow in grace and faith, have continued strength and healing, and know the Lord’s hope and restoration. Please also pray with us for a new “house mom”/house manager needed at the “Beverly House of Hope,” our residence and safe house. The job description is at www.restorationhousekc.com.
Additionally, we are experiencing financial challenges with this extensive, intensive, and expensive but critical ministry. We need $30 dollar per month donors to supplement our other fundraising efforts. Our goal is 100 monthly donors of $30 per month. If you’d prayerfully consider becoming one of these crucial monthly donors, please email [email protected] to learn how you can set up your monthly automatic donation.
A big thank you to Antioch Church of Overland Park for their sponsorship of the Run For 1 Event. We received $7000 from this very successful event. Also, we would like to thank Monte McGeorge and Lenexa Christian Center for organizing the Restoration Benefit Motorcycle Ride. They raised over $1000 for Restoration House. Thanks to all the riders and runners!
HORN OF AFRICA TEAM GETTING READY TO GO – Another excellent team of BR-KC’ers and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary professors are preparing to head to Ethiopia! This summer’s team will have two professors from Midwestern Seminary. They will teach at the BR-KC founded and supported Shire, Ethiopia Bible School in partnership with Shire Evangelical Church in northern Ethiopia, Tigray region. They will be accompanied by three Seminary students who will join representatives from BRKC churches Noland Road Baptist and United Believers. The team will not only teach in the Bible School, but also help with construction of additional space for the Bible School and Shire church, conduct VBS in the Shire church, and also minister to Eritrean refugee children and the churches and people in the Eritrean Refugee Camps of Northern Ethiopia. Please pray for this team as they travel and serve from June 27 until July 11, 2016.
