By Tim Goulet, Worship & Student Pastor at LifeQuest
Zechariah 4:10 tells us to “not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” LifeQuest Church began in the heart of Chris and Linda Pinion as a small Bible study. On April 20th, 2003, they jumped in with both feet and answered the Lord’s call to build His Church in Belton, Missouri. “Whatever it takes to reach the lost!”
The Church under Pastor Chris’ leadership has had this focus on reaching the lost, and especially the down and out; the “broken, busted, and disgusted.” The Church has several mottos known by the community: “No Perfect People Allowed” and “Increasing the Traffic to Heaven by Creating Life-Changing Communities.”
The Big News is that April 30th, the Church and many friends throughout the years gathered at the Haven Event Space in Louisburg, Kansas to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Church. Past and current worship leaders led in song! Mentors and former pastors spoke rejoicing in the twenty year accomplishment and praising God for His faithfulness. Phil Hopper of Abundant Life Church in Lees Summit gave the inspiring message to keep going and trusting in the Lord. Several testimonies were given sharing how LifeQuest Church and the message of the Gospel have completely changed their lives! Pastor Chris was honored for his obedience and faithfulness in a world where so many pastors are leaving the ministry, giving up, and allowing the church doors to close. He gave an exciting and impassioned vision for the strong and successful future of LifeQuest, to be a direct, hands-on blessing to the community in new and outside the box ways.
Celebrate and rejoice with us in God’s goodness for TWENTY years of the Word of God being preached, countless baptisms, thousands of people being touched, and for TWENTY more years of outreach and being salt and light in South Kansas City!
