Since June of 2020, Connection Point Church has been “In the City and For the City” by taking our Love Kansas City Prayer Bus to churches in the Blue River-Kansas City Baptist Association.

By taking Kansas City history tours, we better know our city and how we can pray for those living here. Our goal is to go to 23 churches in BR-KC who minister to black or multicultural families in the KC Metro by the end of 2020. Then in 2021, we will continue praying for BR-KC churches – focusing first on 12 churches who are multicultural or reaching specific nationalities.

One of the KC history tours was the Spiritual Roots tour guided by Annika Bergman, one of the authors of the book Spiritual Roots of Kanas City. Another was a guided tour by VoiceAp called Dividing Lines: A History of Segregation in Kansas City. The third history tour was Reaching the World for Christ Without Leaving Kansas City.  This tour was led by Andrew Huesing, BR-KC People Teams leader, and Rich Casebolt from RefugeKC.

Due to Covid-19 complications and restrictions, we had to cancel tours earlier in the year and are now limiting the number attending our tours. However, we believe it is important to accomplish our goal. Please consider joining the prayer team and helping us pray for Kansas City. We are still operating under Covid-19 guidelines of only having the bus half full, everyone wearing masks and sanitizing the bus.

We have one more 2020 tour scheduled for December 5. Each tour begins at 1:00pm and leaves from the ROC entrance at Connection Point Church.  Pre-registration is required as spots are limited.  The cost of the tour is a suggested $5 donation.  To reserve your spot, please email Carmen Kraus, Mission Coordinator at Connection Point Church at [email protected].
