By Brian Grout, Associate Director of Missions

Every church goes through different seasons. Some seasons bring growth, energy, and fresh vision; others bring challenges such as plateau, decline, or fatigue in ministry. In those times, church leaders often ask: How do we renew our congregation’s health and vitality?

We recently relaunched our Pastor’s Huddles, and we will be walking through the Facilitating Renewal guide from the Missouri Baptist Convention. This resource is designed to allow the Pastor to walk your congregation through a biblical and practical process of rediscovering your mission, refreshing your ministry, and impacting your community for the future.

We desire to see every one of our BRKC Churches to be a healthy, biblically faithful, and community-focused multiplying church. Church health is not necessarily about numbers or church size, but rather obedience and faithfulness. This time together will help pastors and leaders take a clear, honest look at the current state of their church.

The process is not a quick fix, nor does it give you the silver bullet for church renewal. It is a Spiritual work because God is the one who builds His church. However, this will help our churches assess themselves to identify strengths as well as areas of needed growth. It will allow churches to develop strategic plans and action steps that are gospel centered and mission-focused. Leaders and the church will be equipped to pursue healthy identities and renewal together.

Partnership is one of the best benefits of this time together. What would our association, city, and surrounding area look like if every church were a healthy and multiplying church? Imagine the kingdom impact, the lives changed through Christ, and the effectiveness of a healthy, obedient church.

Church renewal is ultimately God’s work, but He calls us to be faithful stewards of the congregations he has entrusted to us. By joining us every month, pastors and churches can take the intentional steps toward health, growth, and gospel impact in their communities. If your church is ready to be renewed and always renewing, then join us for our monthly Pastor’s Huddle as we work toward a healthier and more vibrant future for our churches.
