By Gregg Boll, Director of Missions

Rather than focus on one event or subject and ask you to read a lengthy article, I’m doing something differently this month.  I’m going to share several newsworthy items, and you can inquire with us further if they have value to you and your church’s mission.

The Worship Target Mini Conference on September 6th from 9am-12pm at FBC North KC.

Brian and I have been meeting regularly with the DOMs of the Clay-Platte and KCK Associations to discuss ways to better collaborate and offer more training opportunities to our pastors, staff, and churches. While we had planned to offer our own worship training event this fall, we have decided instead to promote this mini conference being offered in the Clay-Platte Association. This event will be led by Brad Newbold with the “Holy Affections” worship band filled with worship leaders from the region.

Disciple-Making Culture Cohort to begin this fall led by pastor Jason Allen.

Jason says, “We all desire to see average Christians activated for ministry. We all desire to have men and women who co-labor with us in the work of ministry.  But how do we accomplish these things? How can we lead our church to have ordinary Christians doing the work of ministry? How can we lead our church to have an impact in our community? How do we find more leaders within our local church?  The simple answer is to develop a disciple-making culture where ordinary men and women are equipped for ministry work (Eph. 4:12)”.

This is why we will host the Disciple-Making Culture Cohort, which will help you as a church leader develop a disciple-making culture in your local church. You will discover (1) why a disciple-making culture matters, (2) how to personally disciple others, (3) how to equip others to become ordinary disciple-making disciples, (4) tools to implement to create a disciple-making culture in your church. Watch for emails/texts with details from us later this month.

2026 World Cup Ministry:  BR-KC has budgeted some funds in our 2026 budget to help our churches have a gospel presence at these games next summer (June11-July19) which are coming to our city.  Nicolas Wilson, pastor of First Baptist Peculiar has offered to take the lead in strategizing and coordinating the kinds of things the World Cup Officials will allow our churches to do.  Please contact us or Nicolas if you would like to be on a team to coordinate this work. Montana Church Partnerships: Who’s Up For a Trip to Montana? – The Missouri Baptist Convention has around 1800 churches.  BR-KC Association has 120 in a two-county area.  The Montana Baptist Convention has only 130 churches across one of the largest states in the U.S.  These churches and church plants are mostly small and serve huge geographic areas of the state.  Brian Grout, our Associate Director, grew up in the Western U.S. and has led several vision trips to introduce Missouri Churches to Montana Churches and pastors in his former role with the MBC.  BR-KC would like to encourage you and your church to prayerfully pursue a partnership with one of these churches and we can help cover the cost of your trip with $300 from the MBC and $300 from BR-KC.  Brian hopes to take one of these vision tours in September/October so contact him soon if you’re interested in going.  [email protected]
